Being 13 Stoplight Paragraph
I agree with Nancy Gibbs “Being Thirteen”.The author states that “if childhood is about magic, 13 introduces mystery.”Being 13 is beginning to enter adulthood because you get more responsibilities like taking care of your little brothers and sisters when your parents aren’t there. The author acknowledged that teenagers “demand more respect from their parents and show them less.”Teenagers want more games or clothes and they don't show their parents respect because they care about themselves more than others like in The Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen didn’t showed her mom less respect. The author admitted that “in a TIME poll of this age group, two-thirds said being a teenager is harder for them than it was for their parents."Being a teenager is harder for me than my parents because now there is now a lot of bullying than it was back then so more kids get bullied now than back then and the kids that get bullied do worse things now like doing suicide.I agree with Nancy Gibbs because teenagers are growing up, they want respect and it’s harder for them than it was for their parents.Being a teenager is like trying to pass a bridge with some pieces of wood missing.
