First of all, “For every action taken by man, there are eternal consequences.”-Jerry David quotes. In the novel “Tangerine” by Edward Bloor, Paul Fisher is a soccer player, his brother (which Paul is scared of) Erik is a football player and he has a mom and dad.Paul Fisher is legally blind and he moves to Tangerine, Florida. He is going to Lake Windsor Middle School but he can not play soccer because he is legally blind and because his mom signed an IEP form. There is a sinkhole and he transfers schools to Tangerine Middle School. His mom hid the IEP so now he now plays soccer at Tangerine Middle School and he would be happy.Timo and his sister went to Paul’s house and Erik hit Tino so Luis went to look for Erik at the football practice but the Arthur hit Luis on the head with a black jack so that causes Luis’s death and Paul saw it all.Paul Fisher’s mom.She is Paul’s mom and she does some choices and the consequences end up affecting Paul in a bad way then in a good way.The relationship between choices and consequences is that when you make a choice there is always a consequence or an outcome. The choices of Paul’s mom signing the IEP and she hiding the IEP result in Paul not being able to play soccer for Lake Windsor Middle School and then Paul being able to play for Tangerine Middle School.
Simultaneously,Paul’s mom signed an IEP form for Lake Windsor Middle School.Paul’s mom said, “He has problems with his eyesight—he's legally blind—so we were hoping to make a dry run today"(p. 30).Paul mom told the principal of the school that Paul was legally blind.Paul was not happy about that and he tried to change the subject as fast as the speed of light by saying that he likes to play soccer.Paul’s new principle said,“Mrs. Fisher, I'd like to get you to fill out an IEP for Paul—an Individualized Education Plan”(p. 28).Since Paul’s mom said that Paul was legally blind now she has to fill out the IEP form for Paul. That choice will soon affect Paul in a really bad way.Paul’s soccer coach told him, “You can't play soccer for Lake Windsor Middle School”(p.66).Paul can not play soccer on the team because his mom signed the IEP.Paul can’t play soccer at Lake Windsor Middle School so now he is mad at his mom.Paul is a volcano that is about to explode. That’s one of the choices and consequences that Paul’s mom made and also how Mrs.Fisher’s choices and consequences affected Paul.
Subsequently, when Paul transferred schools his mom did not give them Paul’s IED form.“The Tangerine Times printed a special pullout section on the Lake Windsor Middle School sinkhole”(p. 89).Because of the huge sinkhole Paul now has to move schools.Paul had the option to stay in Lake Windsor Middle School and go to school in the afternoon but he choose to go to Tangerine Middle School.“Your IEP form disappeared somewhere between Lake Windsor and here”(p. 105).Paul’s mom did that because she wanted Paul to be extremely happy. She also wanted Paul to be able to play soccer and do something he likes.“Good. I need a backup in goal. Grab that red shirt and go down to the far end. We're about to start the scrimmage”(p. 104).Paul was really happy that the Tangerine Middle School coach let him be on the team. But when he joined the team Victor and his boys started bullying him.But then Victor became Paul’s friend and then they stopped bullying him.Mrs.Fisher’s decision is is making Paul very happy because now he can pay on the Tangerine Middle School soccer team and that is how Mrs.Fisher’s choice and the consequence affect Paul.
In conclusion,“For every action taken by man, there are eternal consequences.”-Jerry David quotes wich proves that the choices that Paul’s mom made affected Paul in a bad way and then she fixed it to be in a good way.Paul’s mom’s choices and consequences were signing the IEP for Lake Windsor Middle School and then hiding the IEP from Tangerine Middle School.Paul’s mom made choices and those choices resulted consequences. There are a lot of choices in this book, some are good but some are bad.But the consequences is what affects their lives in this book.Unfortunately for some character's choices result in bad consequences, for example, when Erik told Arthur to hit Luis Cruz with a blackjack and Luis Cruz died from that, they both got in a really GIGANTIC BAD trouble.Like in real life, if you make a bad choice the result is that the consequence is bad and if you make a good choice the result is that the consequence good. This is called Karma.
