Steve Biko was as brave as a soldier going into war because he stood up for his rights even though they threatened him.Steve Biko was a man that stood up for the rights of black citizens in South Africa.The white citizens give no rights to the black citizens and they did things to the black citizens for no reason.When Steve Biko dued everyone stood up for their rights and they defeated the white government even though it meant putting their lives on the line.In "Steve Biko: South African Freedom Fighter" by Jamestown the reader learns the importance of standing up for your rights to make the world a better place.
Steve Biko didn't care about the limits he went, all he wanted was for everyone to have rights.For example, "He felt that the work he was doing was more important than his personal safety" (p.10).This shows that he didn’t care about what they did to him, he only wanted black people to have rights.Also, "To make sure that they could maintain control, they made and enforced laws that kept blacks from having any power"(p.3).This shows that white people didn’t give any rights to black people and that is why Steve Biko stood up for the black citizens rights in South Africa.The article states that, "But most importantly, he called on black people to stand up for their basic human rights"(p.6).This shows that Steve Biko wasn't afraid to stand up for his rights and he wanted the other black citizens to not be afraid to stand up for their rights.All this shows that Steve Biko had no limits because all he wanted was rights for everyone in South Africa.
After Steve Biko's death everyone in South Africa stood up for their rights."Both within and outside the country, people wanted to end the old racist policies" (p.14).This shows that "They pledged to continue the battle Steve had fought"(p.1).This shows that when Steve Biko died everyone promised to continue Steve's battle for their rights.Lastly, " All across the country, millions of other blacks echoed that pledge"(p.1).This shows that Steve Biko was everyone's inspiration to stand up for their rights and they were tired to have no rights.
